Client Story: Cecilia

What would you do if you were laid off tomorrow? For Cecilia, she had to face that question head on. Cecilia’s hardship began when she was let go from her previous job. As a single mother of a preteen, Cecilia was able to receive some support from family. Her adult child helped her pay a portion of the rent while she was looking for a new job.

In addition to this, Cecilia began working on what she could while awaiting placement with a Jesse Tree case manager. Cecilia connected with her landlord, letting them know that she applied for Jesse Tree assistance, and worked with her utility provider to get on a payment plan. Cecilia’s Jesse Tree case manager also worked with her to ensure she had sustainable finances going forward. Once Cecilia was assigned a Jesse Tree case manager, she had already begun to see a hopeful path forward; a way out of her housing crisis that allowed her to stay in her home.

Jesse Tree was able to provide a portion of Cecilia’s rental arrears, paired with long-term financial stability planning, to keep her and her child housed.
