Client Story: Anna
Anna is a single mother with two children, one of whom is disabled, requiring more support and care. They live in a two bedroom apartment. Anna works full-time to support her children, and generally, they are able to make ends meet. After months of saving and planning, Anna was able to do something she had always been hoping to do. She was able to take her children on a vacation to see her family.
A family stand in an open field, overlooking a sunset.
Travel is always expensive, no matter how much planning is done prior. However Anna and her kids had to face the unthinkable. Their flights home were cancelled and unable to be rescheduled till days later due to severe and dangerous weather. The unexpected costs of extending their stay made it difficult for Anna to cover her bills and rent when they returned home.
After getting back to Idaho, Jesse Tree was able to provide emergency rental assistance to Anna upon verifying her circumstances. Jesse Tree was also able to connect Anna and her children with community resources like clothing from Deseret Industries, a household supply kit, and connections to services. The ERA program ensured that Anna and her kids were able to stay in their home despite the unexpected emergency while travelling.
