Client Story: Natalie
Natalie’s hardship started when she and her four children were suddenly living alone. She and her husband divorced, leaving her to take care of their children alone. The stress from this was already difficult to cope with and forced the whole family to readjust. Natalie took on side work to make ends meet, and to help get the family on track after losing income.
Despite continuing to do all she could to keep the family above water, they quickly fell behind on rent. Natalie connected with Jesse Tree, getting her and her children resources to navigate their housing crisis. Their case manager was able to get the family caught up on missed rent, keeping them safely housed. In addition , Natalie’s case manager referred her family to Jesse Tree’s Community Health Worker.
Jesse Tree’s Community Health Worker provides longer term case management, allowing for households who may face health barriers to seek extra support. Between the emotional toll that the divorce has taken and with some of the children having existing health conditions, Natalie’s family benefited greatly from the prolonged support and the connections to healthcare providers. The family is working towards a sustainable and healthier future together.
